A picture is worth a thousand words!

Hello everyone! Today I want to comment a picture of me from 2011.

In this picture I am literally flying through the skies, because I'm enjoying a tourist attraction in an amusement park in France.

The attraction is flying chairs, and the park is called Asterix, I visited that country in 2011 in winter vacation in Chile and summer holidays in France. The photograph was captured by one of my uncles, who live in that country for many years.

For me it was a challenge to get on these chairs flying, because I suffer from vertigo of heights, I was afraid when I first began to rise, but was one of the best feelings of my life, it was like freedom.

The feeling is so incredible that all the afraid you feel at first, then turns into adrenaline and do not want to get off anymore.

Asterix Park has a variety of attractions for all the family, and is the symbol of Welsh culture, also enjoyed roller coasters. I also met Disneyland in Paris, where the coasters are great, they play music and you can see projections of lights as you head spinning and it's the most cool ever!

The picture brought me many flashbacks, not only of that day; I remember the whole trip where I met many beautiful places and interesting people.

I hope to go soon to visit my French family, and as a dream in a future, I want to work in a museum there, if not much dreaming, The Louvre! :p

Hello all again! I have been absent for a while, because I didn't have classes in this last month. So now in this new blog, I have to correct the last post of my classmateThiare Leon.

Today I’m going to talk about movies, this is a (an) awesome subject because allow to talk about many others things, is very wide.

Well, in these last months I have been considered (as) my favorite movie “Tesis”. This is the first movie of the Spanish director Alejandro Amenabar. The director of others movies like “The Others”, “Abre los ojos”, and many others; but I preferred “Tesis”, obviously the coolest movie ever!

Is the best (movie) because it talks about very interesting topics like violence in the media and the cinema industry. But more important, (this is) the coolest movie ever because it have the best character:  Chema (Fele Martinez). He is a very funny, ironic and irreverent character.

The movie was released int 1996 and was starred by Ana Torrent, Fele Martinez and Eduardo Noriega. The movie is about a young woman call Angela that is making her thesis about the audiovisual violence. But the professor that was helping her died suddenly by a heart attack while he was watching a movie. The movie was a snuff-movie that Angela found and keep it.

Snuff movies are grotesque and crude real movies in which torture and kill people in order to satisfy the desire that produces the violence. Is like a pornographic movie but in which the desire is the crudeness of the violence. The snuff movies are part of a huge black market that remains underground and developing.

When Angela discover this movie is presented to her a new and dangerous world in which she can be the next star of (on) a snuff movie. “Tesis” is a thriller movie in which the mistery is always present.

This (is) a part of the movie that I like alot (a lot), is a story that Chema tells to Angela:

But also the movie related the media violence with the cinema as a consumer product. The phrase: “give the public what they want” is very interesting for this analysis. Create movies that are submitted to economics factors like, in the case of the snuff-movies, in order to compite (compete) with the northeamerican (American) cinema industry. But hre (here) is when the moral question emerges: Can we violate the rights of people in order to fulfill the desire of a market?

Hello again!

Today I want to talk about a movie that I really like, is not my favorite because it is very difficult to choose one. I love a lot of movies!

But I decided to talk about a movie of one of my favorite directors, Quentin Tarantino.

Inglourious Basterds, tells a fictional story set during World War II, is based on the idea that a group of U.S. soldiers have a mission to kill Nazis.

During the film are narrated different stories but they are united in a common goal. The music of the movie I really like, in general the soundtrack of Quentin Tarantino's movies are my favorites.

Actors who appear in this film, including Brad Pitt, Mélanie Laurent, Christoph Waltz, Diane Kruger, Daniel Brühl.

The film is a bit controversial, by its scenes of explicit violence and because historical facts are altered.

The Quentin Tarantino dialogue writing are ironic, playing with reality and fiction, what makes this movie always keep continuing interest, never get bored of it.

The film was released in 2009, and was nominated for best supporting actor Christoph Waltz, who won in this category in the Cannes Film Festival awards, in the Screen Actors Guild at the Golden Globes and the Oscars .

The film was commercially successful, grossing over $321 million in theaters worldwide. It received multiple awards and nominations, including eight Academy Award nominations, including one for Best Picture.

Hello all again! This post is dedicated to websites that I like and that are related to my career. I enjoy visiting websites where they show more interactive artworks.

I also like to see the paintings through a Google website, called Google Art Project.

The website of the Prado Museum has interactive videos that teach art in an entertaining way.

I like to visit these pages recursively, as the history of art is what I love about my career.

Hello everyone, today I will comment on the type of music I listen to, this includes several bands and singers, music in English and Spanish and some in other languages ​​like French and Portuguese. My favorite band is Muse, I like the Bossa Nova and old songs in French as songs of Edith Piaf.

I also listen to more pop music, last year I went to the Lady Gaga concert and really enjoyed his songs, is one of my favorite artists too.

In this post, i want to talk about my life. My name is Catalina, as you know, I'm 20 years old, I live with my mother her name is Patricia and my grandfathers, Hugo and María. My mother is a paramedic, she work hard for pay my carrer in the University. I have two pets, a tortoise and a dog, my tortoise it's called Matilde and my dog it's called Pillín.

I'am very happy with my carrer, and I have a good friends in the University, in the future i hope travel a lot and know many museums and historical sites.
